I understood the punishment, but I didn’t understand why the penalty had to be so heavy. I was bitter and mad, and more upset than ever. I’d cried myself to sleep on several nights while thinking about the tragedy that had happened to me. A part of me wished that they would have killed me that night instead of putting me in a situation to where I could do nothing for myself.

I still remembered when my wife walked out on me while I laid there in the hospital bed. She left me on my death bed and that caused my heart to grow colder than ever. It’s a good thing I was partially paralyzed because the thoughts that were manifesting inside of me right then were immature, childish, and devilish.
